Scotland was absolutely enchanting. The home we stayed in was stunning. Hard to believe that is at one time was just a shell, Sally De Waard saw to every detail in renovation. Sally also made all of our group feel comfortable and welcome. Dalkeith has beautiful old churches, a large park with trails, a zip line, children's play area, shops and a cafe. Perfect for aI cuppa after a brisk walk. The Dalkeith castle and Orangery are beautiful examples of history.
Visits to castles, memorials, underground areas are all around. There is something for everyone, and way more to visit than can be done in one trip. No matter what you choose to see and do, know you will be mesmerized and wanting to return.
We visited so many places including the church that the Da Vinci code was filmed at, Edinburgh Royal Mile, Victoria St. The straw markets. Mary Kings Close. Edinburgh Castle, The Palace of Holyroodhouse, Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument with 246 stairs. Just to name a few highlights. Also our driver was very knowledgeable about history and prominent Scottish inventions and inventors. I highly recommend the entire trip.
